XL Birthday Blanket

This was my daughter's 7th birthday present and she LOVES it!! We've washed it several times now and it's holding up fabulously. She loves looking at old pictures of herself so I wanted a way to have pictures of each year of her life. I saw another blanket in the gallery with a rainbow pattern (here's the link: http://www.artscow.com/gallery/blanket/rainbow-stitch-queen-sz-fleece-blanket-xl-family-kids-wedding-mother-father-brother-sister-grandmother-grandfather-grandma-umocsrnkziwv) which led me to this idea to get a rainbow with 7 colors and put pictures from each year of her life in each of the different colors. So in the red part I put a bunch of pictures of her first year, the orange is her 2nd year, etc. It ended up taking WAY longer than I'd originally expected, but it was so much fun it was worth it to me. My friend suggested I try to make it a template for use here on ArtsCow, but it would take some work, so I don't think I'd do it unless someone was serious about trying to make one themselves. Hopefully seeing this will give some of you some good inspiration, though! I love having a way to share with each other in the gallery like this! =)
